Let's do the maths


In 2013 and 2014 that is 2024 Rhino killed.


An average horn weighs 10 kilos.


Rhino horn sells for $US60,000 per kilo


2024 X 10 X 60,000 = $US 1,214,400,000.00


This is the wholesale cost, so you can multiply that by 10 to get the retail cost.

The value to organised crime is a STAGGERING

$US 12, 144,000,000.00 OR 

twelve billion one hundred and forty million US dollars 

This is the size of the problem that we face.
